Six Flags Great America's Future

Postby Dragster Force » Wed Apr 08, 2009 9:48 am

Hey,

As SFGAm expands, they're also taking away some rides. Such as Deja Vu which is being replaced by Buccaneer Battle; but Space Shuttle America closed in 2007, but still isn't replaced. I wonder if this could be a future site for something. The building which once held the motion theatre of SSA is still there, but empty. Six Flags did announce that they would give every SF a big new attraction celebrating their Six Flags Inc.'s 50th anniversary. I wonder where they would place that new attraction; mainly I wonder what it could be. Dive machine coaster rumor has been floating around for a couple years now. Once again, that goes back to the question: Where would they put it? Any thoughts?

I've never visited the park, although its on my list to do - along with half the country

I would stretch a guess and say if they have any undeveloped land they might look into that. My concern is their commitment to adding a big new attraction to each park for the anniversary. They're already facing bankruptcy if they don't do well this season, and adding massive new additions to all your parks wouldn't help that situation I would think. They've also got at least two parks in severe need of help and should probably focus on those parks.

I'm thinking that with the massive financial problems Six Flags is facing right now, they will probably not be adding any major attractions anywhere in the near future. They are facing a highly probably bankruptcy and their stock, which has been selling for pennies a share, was recently de-listed for not meeting NYSE listing criteria.

This will be my first year with a Six Flags season pass. I've only been to one Six Flags park in the past (SFOG in 2006) and will be visiting at least 3, if not 4 of their parks this year. I'm hoping they manage to hold off through the end of the operating season before either selling parks or closing them down so that I can use my Six Flags pass to visit places such as Six Flags America, where I will be purchasing my pass in May. The others on my list for this year are Great Adventure, Kentucky Kingdom and possibly Great America.

Dragster Force - I wouldn't expect a dive machine. We will probably very rarely see those around in the upcoming years. As much as I loved Sheikra, it was a little too short and had somewhat of too much hype. Good thinking, though. A dive machine would be a nice addition to the already large collection of different types of rides there already.
Now comes the wait for Midwest Coaster Trip 2009

^I heard the same everywhere. I would rather NOT have a dive, but that's what I keep hearing. I've just gotten to the point where I'm so desperate, I'll take anything bigger. A good woodie I would enjoy. I'm leaning on a 30% chance of what SF had in mind for the future. They're ruining their parks. I'm sticking with CP for thrills, ATM.
